This month featuring: Matthew Robinson and the Central East Band, word/jazz low stars, Kenny Dorham Youth Jazz Workshop-Kelvin Stewart Group, Kid's Corner art making, art/craft vendors, food/drinks and free Live Oak Beer!
DiverseArts' monthly celebration of the East Austin Cultural District. Each month we offer a small neighborhood-based community festival that features kids programming and art activities (with free books---and hot dogs--- for each child), art and craft vendors, youth jazz ensembles, and a feature concert to close the evening.
There's good food and soft drinks for sale, and free cold beer from our East Austin-brewed beer sponsor, Live Oak Brewery.
Most often the headline act is a jazz, blues, R&B/soul, gospel, world music act because the core of our programming attempts to re-connect Central East Austin to the culture that founded this cool and funky part of town.
Gates open for the (free) Kid's corner recorded music, food/drinks at 6pm. Live music begins at 7pm. $5 cover at 8pm. Proceeds are rolled-back into the project to support DiverseArts East Austin cultural projects.
As we move into the season, stay tuned for 4th Friday activities all along East 11th Street, from Branch to Angelina, that will involve the other venues/businesses along the street.

East End Fourth Fridays is a unique art and culture driven monthly event, produced by DiverseArts, that helps showcase the diverse cultural attributes and historical identity of Austin's East End. The event is specifically driven to promote the neighborhood's fine artists, businesses, cultural, civic, commercial, and governmental groups in a relaxed open-air market environment to the newly revitalized East end of Austin.
Sample food and drink at established and new venues, take in the headline concerts at Kenny Dorham’s Backyard, check out arts vendors, organizations, and sponsors doing PR and public outreach, bring the kids to the children’s program areas.
We hope to involve partners and sponsors in ways that draw positive name associationand new customers to this quality, community-based marriage of culture and commerce.
